Olivers Production Process
Our production starts with the planks of wood which are carefully selected for their aesthetic qualities.
These are cut to and machined in a multistage process to produce our high quality back plates, of which we are very proud.
The wooden blocks are routed using a CNC machine to achieve accuracy and uniformity and form the basic template of the item to be finished.
A spindle moulder is then used to create the side profile matching Victorian traditional ovolo mouldings.
Each item then passes to the sanding stage, where it is sanded firstly using an electrical belt sander, and then finely sanded by hand to achieve a smooth finish
Each component is then stained lacquered and waxed to the customers individual order, to achieve a furniture grade finish that will add character an d charm to the finished project.
Our wood is the finest grade, and tested to achieve the required combustibility and ignitability characteristics suitable for use in modern installations and renovations.
We are so confident that you will not find a similar quality product available that we are happy to provide a sale or return sample of any item in our catalogue for you to inspect and handle at your leisure. We are sorry but postage costs are not refundable for sample items.
